TeamDFN are walking the walk at JustWalk 2018

SATURDAY 12th MAY 2018, JustWalk 2018 sponsored charity event. Last May, TEAM DFN hiked across the beautiful South Downs National Park in West Sussex, and managed to raise over £4,000 in donations to provide scholarships to under-privileged medical and nursing students to train to become doctors and nurses. Beginning and ending at the Goodwood Racecourse in Chichester, we walked the 20k route.  On 12th May 2018 we will be doing it all over again, but this time we are upping our game and looking to enter people in the following distances: 10km, 25km, 35km, 45km and even 60km! News from Dr Lalit

Lalit is currently working in a remote district hospital in Rukum District in mid-western Nepal.  Here's what he says about his work: "I am working with the government's comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care programme. My prime responsibilities are to take care of pregnancy, pregnancy related complications and neonatal problems. I see the women in the antenatal clinic, manage deliveries in the labour room and perform emergency caesarean sections for complicated deliveries in the operating theatre.  During the past 4 months, I have done 5 emergency caesarian sections, 185 normal deliveries, and have treated many women needing ...

News from 4th year med student Prakash

Good new from Prakash who has just completed his 4th year exam and has passed with an excellent mark.  In his final year he will be spending 6 months studying/working at Patan Hospital in Kathmandu and 5 months working in a rural district hospital.  He is also required to visit a non-profit health related organisation for 2 weeks.  Prakash has chosen to visit a community rehabilitation centre in Kathmandu where he will gain more knowledge about the importance of skill development for the sustainable livelihood of children with disabilities and learning difficulties. CONGRATULATIONS TEAM DFN!  On Sunday 25th February TeamDFN, consisting of 9 runners, took part in the Brighton Half Marathon.
