Two years on from Nepal earthquake

It is hard to believe that 2 years have passed since the enormous earthquake that rocked Nepal. From a recent visit to the capital – one could believe that life is back to normal; but it does not take much to see and feel the longstanding effects from the damage. Many still live in fear of a further quake, and thousands are still living in temporary accommodation, awaiting the funds pledged by the government (no-one has yet received the full re-building costs). Travelling to Manma in Kalikot District

Kate, one of our trustees Dr Nat Thurtle, and one of our newly qualified Doctors for Nepal, Nahakul, have travelled out to Kalikot to visit Manma Hospital where Kate first worked as a doctor for Médecins Sans Frontières, and where some of our documentary “Namaste – a Himalayan Journey” was filmed. Fantastic fundraising by our runners

We had 9 runners taking part in the Brighton Half Marathon this year - a cold and blustery day. Fighting against the elements they all completed the course, some with amazingly fast times. The greatest news is that between them, our runners have raised over £3,000 and counting.  We are extremely grateful to Abby, Emily, Kiersten, Effie, Becky, Sarah, Harriet, Valentina and Sasha for their fundraising efforts.
