Nursing Scholarship News
We are extremely pleased to announce that we will be extending our nursing scholarships this forthcoming academic year. In July 2017 we will be commencing the selection process for the new nursing and midwifery course at Patan Academy of Health Sciences, Kathmandu. The students will undertake a three year course to become graduates of nursing and midwifery, and sign an agreement to be posted to a remote area for a minimum of two years post-graduation.
Later this year we will be recruiting for nursing students to commence studies at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences – in Jumla, in the west of Nepal. This is an extremely remote and impoverished district, where there are few academic or employment opportunities for women, and healthcare there is amongst the poorest in the country. Our new nursing students will be recruited from that particular area, and will commit to return to their villages to work.
