Huge Postgraduate Expansion!
On top of our work providing undergraduate scholarships, we are passionate about upskilling doctors and recognise the desperate need for consultant-level and specialist doctors in remote Nepal. For this reason, we are delighted that we are able to expand our postgraduate offering.
In partnership with Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS), we have agreed to jointly sponsor two gynaecology residents, one general practice resident and one psychiatry resident, all of whom are undergoing their postgraduate training in Nepal. On finishing their training, these individuals will serve the rural areas for at least three years, based at KAHS and its affiliated teaching districts. This will be part of a long term plan to support more postgraduate students.

‘I am thrilled to share the wonderful news that Doctors for Nepal is providing me with an incredible opportunity to work in a rural setting. This has always been a dream of mine, and I am overjoyed at the prospect of fulfilling it.From a young age, I have been passionate about healthcare and dedicated to serving communities that have limited access to medical services. Working in a rural setting not only allows me to apply the knowledge and skills I have acquired during my medical education and residency, but it also enables me to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals who need it the most. The chance to work closely with patients in these areas, understand their unique healthcare needs, and provide compassionate and effective care is something I have long aspired to do. I believe that this experience will not only enhance my professional growth but also enrich my personal journey as a healthcare provider.I am incredibly grateful to Doctors for Nepal for this opportunity and am committed to giving my very best to improve patient care and contribute to the community.
