We’re thrilled to announce Rajesh Kumar Yadav has passed his final year exams and qualified as a doctor! He is the 11th medical student to qualify thanks to a DFN scholarship.
Rajesh’s journey to this moment was anything but easy. In his final year at the Patan Academy of Health Sciences (PAHS), he suddenly lost his father and, due to the financial constraints on his family, faced the very real prospect of having to abandon his degree, just as he neared the finish line.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we were able to provide Rajesh with the funding he needed to stay in his studies and carry on toward his dream of becoming a doctor. Today he has has successfully completed his medical degree, a testament to his own resilience and determination.
What’s Next for Dr. Yadav
Rajesh will now begin his internship year at PAHS, gaining hands-on clinical experience across a range of specialties. Following this, he will undertake his bonded period of service in rural Nepal, bringing much-needed medical care to communities that often struggle to access qualified doctors.
This is exactly the kind of impact Doctors for Nepal exists to create: not just helping individuals become doctors, but helping ensure that rural and underserved communities across Nepal have access to the healthcare professionals they need.
