We’re proud to announce that DFN doctor, Kamal Hamal, has been selected to participate in the prestigious Leadership in Medicine course organized by Harvard Medical School. DFN are very pleased to be able to sponsor him again to complete this course.
This hybrid program combines both online learning and in-person workshops, designed to develop leadership skills and a deep understanding of healthcare systems and innovation. Participants attend daily online classes accessible from anywhere in the world, complemented by three in-person workshops.
Kamal has already completed the first workshop in Malaysia, Reflecting on the experience, Kamal shared:
“Regarding the first workshop in Malaysia, it has been a wonderful opportunity to learn from world-class professors. This course has truly been an enriching experience for me. We are required to complete a capstone project and I am planning to focus on a topic related to rural health. This workshop has taught me about leadership, healthcare challenges and how to overcome them, quality improvement and its implementation, hidden curriculum, and rural healthcare delivery. It introduced the concept of change management and provided insights into becoming a more effective leader and manager. The program also offered key knowledge in healthcare safety and quality, introduced a framework for faculty development, and explained how to be part of a great team, including how to build and develop highly effective teams.”
The second workshop of the program will be conducted online, while the final workshop is scheduled to take place at Harvard Medical School in Boston, USA.
We are delighted to support Kamal on this transformative journey and look forward to seeing the positive impact his learning will have on health leadership in the future. As per our agreements, he will return to a rural area to work for a bonded period following the course, giving him a wonderful opportunity to put his learning into practice.
