In the presence of the Honorable President Mrs. Bidhya Devi Bhandarijiu, Dr Kate Yarrow, founder and chair of Doctors For Nepal has received an award at the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) in Jumla, as recognition for the charity's work in rural Nepal. Sadly Kate was unable to accept the award in person, but Dr Kamal Hamal, one of our graduated doctors now working at KAHS, accepted the award on behalf of Doctors For Nepal. They are now both off to their remote regions of Kalikot and Jumla to take up jobs as doctors back in their home villages. ??⚕️??⚕️?
Their dream of bringing healthcare to rural Nepal has been realised - we are SO very proud of them both. ???☺️?
Emergency equipment now in use
As a result of our emergency appeal for funds to buy desperately needed oxygen cylinders and concentrators for remote regions of Nepal, our equipment has arrived and is being put straight to use. Oxygen concentrators, newly arrived in Mugu District Hospital in one of the most remote regions of Nepal, are now helping many of the local people suffering from Covid.

We are VERY pleased to announce that, through some of our supporters' amazing donations and the extremely quick response by DFN and PHASE NEPAL, we have been able to send a 10 litre much needed oxygen concentrator, along with 8 oximeters and 40 sets of PPE to Patan Hospital in Kathmandu. The equipment arrived this morning, 20th May, and our very own Dr Kamal was there to sign the receipt on behalf of DFN.
