International Nurses Day
A big shout out to our dedicated team of nurses and nursing students this International Nurse Day!
We have fourteen incredible women in our nursing team, thirteen qualified nurses and one student, all of whom have been able to study and gain work in rural areas for their bonded periods thanks to DFN scholarships. Two of our qualified nurses (Satya and Sita) are now recieving a further scholarhsip from DFN for their Bachelor of Nursing degrees.

Another Qualified DFN Nurse!
Congratulations to Arju, our newest qualified nurse. She has recently passed her final exam for her BNS nursing course. She is the 13th nurse to qualify thanks to DFN scholarships!
Her next step will be to do her liscensing exam and gain employment in a rural area!
Two More Medical Students Become Doctors for Nepal!
We are celebrating the amazing achievement of the most recent members of the DFN family to pass their final medical exams. A HUGE well done to Dhanendra and Sangita - the 11th and 12th Doctors for Nepal!
After being awarded DFN scholarships for the MBBS study, they have both worked tirelessly during their medical training and will now undertake their internship year at Patan Academy of Health Sciences before gaining employment in a remote area of Nepal.
Dr. Santosh: Advanced Skilled Birth Attendant
Well done to Dr. Santosh who recently completed his ASBA (Advanced Skilled Birth Attendant) course. The course addresses the need for comprehensive obstetric care in rural areas, such as in Mugu where Santosh works. One of his teachers during the course was Dr. Lalit, the first DFN consultant. A great example of members of the DFN family coming together to advance their careers in rural medicine!

This short documentary follows a team of medical professionals from Doctors for Nepal, as they travel to the remote Karnali district in western Nepal to deliver a women’s health camp.
It is the first ever camp of its kind to be run by the charity, bringing together Nepalese doctors and nurses, all of whom are Doctors For Nepal scholarship holders, alongside the charity’s founder Dr Kate Yarrow and her NHS colleague Dr Rasana Bajracharya.
