5 free places for Brighton Half Marathon 2020
We have 5 free places to give away for next year's Brighton Half Marathon - race day is SUNDAY 23 FEBRUARY 2020. It's a lovely event run along Brighton's seafront, and TeamDFN always does brilliantly raising much needed funds for DFN. In return for a free place in the event, we ask you to fundraise a minimum of £350 via JustGiving (most people raise way more than this), we give you a snazzy DFN running vest and we ask you to have fun!!

Exciting news from Dr Nahakul
We are delighted to announce some great news from Dr Nahakul, who is currently working in his remote village in the west of Nepal.
“I had my job interview for Nick Simmons Institute 2 weeks ago and I got the job successfully! So I rejoined Kalikot District Hospital on 6th November, for a year long posting. I will also be participating in 10 weeks long Advance skilled Birth Attendants training in a tertiary care hospital - after which I will be qualified to perform caesarean sections on my own. Books donated to our students
We are extremely lucky and grateful to have received a donation of 3 large boxes of medical books for our students, which have arrived in Kathmandu from the UK.
Dr Prakash organised all the students to come together for a grand opening ceremony, before putting the books in the DFN library. These days in the UK, most medical students use the internet to advance their knowledge, as much of the information in the more traditional medical text books is available online. TeamDFN raises funds in half marathons
A huge thank you to Heather, Emily, Nic and Alex who have all just run half marathons in London in aid of Doctors for Nepal.
Heather, Emily and Nic took on the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London for the first time and they did remarkably well, raising a total of £1,519.50 which is an amazing effort. Below are their race times and fundraising totals:
Heather ran 1hr 54mins 57 secs and raised £580

DFN awards 3 more nursing scholarships
We are very pleased to announce that we have awarded scholarships to 3 new nurses who have just started their nursing training at Karnali Academy of Health Sciences (KAHS) Nursing College.
We have awarded full scholarships to Niruta Shahi and Hardevi Bhandari and a half scholarship to Sita Sharma. All three students come from the remote province of Jumla, part of the Karnali District.
