Postgraduate Education: More DFN Doctors Take the Next Step

With many of our qualified doctors having now completed their two-year bonded period in remote areas, following being awarded their MBBS degrees and completing their mandatory internships, we're pleased that some of them are now ready to prepare for their postgraduate or MD/MS qualification. This will allow them to become specialists in their chosen area of medicine and bring even more expertise to rural Nepal. Kamal Raises Awareness of Issues in Remote Areas by Delivering Training to Volunteers

Not only do our doctors see many patients a week in a variety of low-resource settings, they often make time to impart their knowledge and experience to others to support a well rounded health system. Fantastic Festive Fundraising!

Our event 'A Christmas Carol by Candlelight' raised almost £2000, which will directly support our doctors, nurses, midwives and students complete their training and go on to improve and save lives in rural Nepal. The event was a resounding success, with masterful storyteller, Ashley Ramsden, generously donating his time and skills to perform the Christmas classic. Singing, laughing and lots of festive cheer, with the backdrop of the ancient Hamsey church lit up by candles made this a truly enjoyable afternoon.
