News just in from Dr Prakash, one of our graduated Doctors For Nepal, who is currently working as a doctor in the remote region of Doti in north west Nepal. He and his colleagues are finding it extremely difficult to treat any patients presenting with Covid symptoms as they have no equipment or ICU facilities available. PPE arrives in Mugu

We are very pleased to announce that a large amount of PPE, the money for which was raised entirely from our online auction at the end of 2020, has now arrived at Mugu District Hospital in the Karnali region of Nepal. Along with PHASE Nepal, our very own Dr Meena has helped co-ordinate the logistics behind getting the PPE to this remote district, but we couldn't have done it without the help of PHASE Nepal to whom we are extremely grateful. DFN sending PPE to Nepal

As a result of our online auction held at the end of last year, we have raised enough funds specifically to purchase and distribute PPE for our doctors, nurses, medical, nursing and midwifery students and their colleagues in remote regions of Nepal. We have collaborated  with PHASE Nepal, who are purchasing the appropriate equipment on our behalf, and it is now on its way to Jumla and Mugu.  We are in also negotiating with PHASE for the safe distribution and storage of the PPE. Kamal gets vaccinated

Kamal has had his 1st dose of covid vaccine. He writes "Nepal launched its largest immunisation campaign on Wednesday with its 1st covishield vaccinations for health workers, following a gift of one million doses from India We are so relieved that the vaccine is finally being rolled out in Nepal. Fingers crossed all our doctors, nurses, medical students, nursing and midwifery students get the vaccine as soon as possible. They are all working frontline in hospitals and health posts throughout Nepal.
