DFN/KAHS Collaboration: Dr. Mangal’s Visit to the UK
We’ve had a fantastic few days hosting Dr. Mangal, Vice Chancellor of our partner medical school, Karnali Academy of Health Sciences!
As well as productive time spent with our trustees and staff discussing our ongoing partnership, we introduced him to UK global health institutions with the potential to reinforce his academic department through international collaboration. Dr Mangal says:
‘The efforts of DFN in enhancing rural healthcare in Nepal have been remarkable. They have played a crucial role in providing educational opportunities to Nepalese youth who might otherwise lack access to medical training Notably, these graduates often choose to serve in rural areas upon completion of their studies, thereby directly benefiting underserved communities.
The partnership between DFN and KAHS represents an exciting and potentially transformative initiative aimed at improving health outcomes in some of the most underdeveloped districts in western Nepal. The success of organizations like DFN is vital, and KAHS looks forward to a deep and expansive collaboration with them in the future.‘
