Dr. Lalit Returns From Rural Hospital Visits
DFN consultant Dr. Lalit recently returned from a successful trip to Jumla, Mugu, and Manma, three of the rural locations that DFN serves.
The primary goal of Dr. Lalit's visit was to ensure that the equipment donated through last year's equipment appeal was being used effectively and that all relevant staff were trained as necessary. Dr. Lalit checked on the CTG machines and ECG machines that had reached the destinations earlier in the year, and offered his services for ongoing training and support in interpreting results.

Nurse Satya Starts a Brand New Role!
Congratulations to DFN nurse Satya who has just started a brand new job at Oda Foundation in Kalikot. We are happy that through our partnership with Oda Foundation, we have been able to create and fund this role.
After her remarkable work over the last few months serving the people of Bajura in her previous role, an internship with Phase Nepal, we're delighted that Satya has the opportunity to make an impact in another remote community. Two More Young Women Supported by DFN to Begin Their Nursing Journey
We're pleased to report exciting developments for our brand new joint study and employment scholarship. This involves us working with Oda Foundation, Kalikot, to collaboratively identify individuals from marginalized groups in the Karnali region, and give them the opportunity to apply for scholarships that include funding for their nursing, midwifery or public health education, as well as a two-year employment contract at Oda Foundation's clinic.

Dr. Meena Performs High-Risk Delivery, Successfully Delivers Twins
This Easter weekend we were reminded of the the hard work continuing in Nepal as many of us in the UK were enjoying our bank holiday.
DFN Dr. Meena, was on-call this week in remote Mugu, when she was presented with an eighteen year old woman, at term with a twin pregnancy. The woman had pre-eclampsia and was in a dangerous situation.
Because she had access to Meena and the rural hospital she works in, she was able to be treated and monitored. Her blood pressure gradually lowered with the help of IV medication as she advanced in her labour.
