Filming for our upcoming short film was in full swing during our recent trustee trip to Nepal. It was inspiring to observe our hardworking students, doctors and nurses consulting with patients and putting their skills into action. The first short will be available to view on the website a few days later than planned but before Christmas, and further footage will be released in the new year, so watch this space for new videos providing updated information about the charity and news on the lives and progress of our DFN scholars.
Our event 'A Christmas Carol by Candlelight' raised almost £2000, which will directly support our doctors, nurses, midwives and students complete their training and go on to improve and save lives in rural Nepal.
The event was a resounding success, with masterful storyteller, Ashley Ramsden, generously donating his time and skills to perform the Christmas classic. Singing, laughing and lots of festive cheer, with the backdrop of the ancient Hamsey church lit up by candles made this a truly enjoyable afternoon.

All stock comes to us straight from suppliers that we have personally selected in Nepal and all proceeds from the shop will go towards scholarships for our doctors, nurses and midwives, so that they can provide healthcare to their remote communities in rural Nepal.

DFN doctor, Nahakul, and nurse, Neelam, presented to a UK school group visiting Nepal from the Bryanston school in Dorset this week. The students were visiting on a trip facilitated by STC expeditions, who arrange ethical school adventures.
This was a wonderful opportunity for these members of the DFN team to share their stories - from growing up in some of the most isolated Nepalese districts, to being supported throughout their studies by Doctors for Nepal to becoming the skilled medics that they are today.
