UK Medical Students Arrive in Nepal

This week, three UK medical students from Bristol University, Rachel Ferguson, Caitlin Hopkins and Georgia Hall arrived in Kathmandu to start their medical electives at Patan Academy of Health Sciences. By choosing to do their elective through DFN, their fee will go towards the scholarships of the people we support.

They will spend two weeks at PAHS before going to do the second part of their elective at the hospital in Gorkha district, where many of our DFN scholars have completed placements. They will have the opportunity to learn about the differences in healthcare in Nepal by shadowing senior doctors and other staff and by meeting members of the DFN family, who are excited to share their own experiences of being medical students.

We wish them a wonderful and fruitful experience and we can’t wait to hear their insights!
